Course Details

B.A. Hons. Sanskrit or Bachelor of Arts Honours in Sanskrit is an undergraduate Sanskrit language course. Sanskrit is a historical Indo-Aryan language and the primary liturgical language of Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. B.A. Hons. in Sanskrit is chiefly about Sanskrit language and its literature. B.A. is generally three academic year degree course and it may be provided on a part-time basis by certain institutes. The curriculum is divided into three parts and eight papers. The Sanskrit graduate has many career scopes in India as they can join schools; colleges and run their own other educational units.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Aspiring candidates should have completed 10+2 or its equivalent exam in the Arts stream with Sanskrit as one of the subjects.The selection for admission will be primarily based on availability of seats in the Major subject and marks imposed by the institution. Merit point for selection will be based on marks obtained in Major subject at Class 12 (or equivalent level) or the aggregate marks of Class 12 (or equivalent level) if Marks of the Major subject is not available. Reservation norms of The Government of Jharkhand must be followed as amended in times.
